Welcome to our Woodchuck 30th Anniversary blog series where we will be highlighting hand-selected creatives every week through the Fall. This year marks our 30th Anniversary and we have asked 25 creatives from across the country to help celebrate 30 years of creativity and innovation by sharing with us what creativity means to them. We sat down with each creative to hear more about how they use creativity on a daily basis and what influences their work. See below for our conversation with Tommy!

W- Hey Tommy! First we just want to thank you for taking the time to hang out with us today while we ask you a few questions so our fans can learn a bit more about you as a creative in the beverage industry. How exactly did you get into the whole travel and videography thing?

T-I really fell in love with videography at the start of the pandemic. I decided to help out all my industry friends by making promotional videos for their bars & restaurants while they were only allowed to open at 25% capacity.

W- Wow, that’s really cool. You really took advantage of what has been a tremendously unfortunate situation and turned lemons into lemonade, or in our case, apples into cider. Let’s forget I just said that… Anyway! When it comes to videography and the subject matter you’re covering with your videos, from where do you tend to draw creative inspiration?

T- After traveling to different bars to create this content, I found a new affinity for telling bartenders’ stories. This quickly morphed into interviewing distillers, brewers, ect.

W- So it sounds like you find inspiration from other people’s experiences and use those as fuel for your own creativity when trying to tell their story. Very cool. With that being said, what exactly does “creativity” mean to you? For us, it’s an opportunity to stray from what people are used to and a chance to showcase our ideas with our fans.

T- To me, creativity allows me to simply tell a person’s story through their lens or their view of the world.

W- That’s a pretty unique perspective. A lot of artists use creativity or define it as a way of expressing their world through their lens, you but take a much more external approach.

T- I found you all from Instagram and totally stalked the feed haha! I liked how you all gave way to your consumers’ creativity and gave them an avenue to showcase that within your world.

W- Well we’re glad you found us nonetheless, and we’re excited to share your custom cocktail recipes with our fans. We’re going to have to try them ourselves!

Tommy has spent a lot of time crafting cocktails as a bartender and is truly an artist when it comes to creating illustrious drinks. Now, you know we love cider. That will never change. But it sure is cool to see what people can do with our cider. Cider is unique in the beverage world in the sense that it has a lot of versatility and allows people to “think outside the can”. Read on for Tommy’s Cocktail recipes!

Head over to our InstagramFacebook or Twitter to see how Tommy’s cocktail creations came out. Use those as a reference point if you try to make your own! Come up with some names for these comments and drop them in the comments of Tommy’s spotlight on Instagram.
