Woodchuck Was Born And Raised In Vermont
We now stretch across the country, but our roots remain firmly entrenched here in our home state. We are so proud to call Vermont home, our company motto has always been Good People Doing Good Things in a Good Way and part of being a good neighbor is partnering with those in your community to make it a better place. Below you will find a description of some of these partnerships that are very important to us.
Renewable Energy
Sourcing over 90% of our energy from renewable resources. In 2013, we installed a solar orchard just a few minutes down the road from our cidery with the help of our friends at AllEarth Renewables. When this project first broke ground, we predicted it would produce 200,000 kWh (kilo-watt hours) of electricity in the first year. In 2018, 232,087 kWh of electricity was produced! Today, about 14% of our power comes from the solar orchard in Bridport, VT. Additionally, 100% of ALL cidery wastewater will be piped directly to a local digester and turned into electricity by the end of 2024.
