How to Roast a Cider Can Turkey without the Stand!
November 23, 2015
It isn’t Thanksgiving without a few cans of your favorite brews. So, why not use one or two to add to your favorite dish? A Cider Can Turkey is a fun and delicious way to make your Thanksgiving staple flavorful, moist, and a real crowd-pleaser.
So… no beer can stand? No problem. Here are three easy steps you can take to cook your Turkey with a beer or cider can, standless!
After you’ve cleaned the bird, and you’re ready to prep…
- Lay your turkey in the pan, breast facing up.
- Fill the cavity of the turkey with your preferred spices.
- Take your open cider can, (we used a Woodchuck® Gumption® 16 oz. Can!) and place in the bird’s cavity with the can turned so the mouth is facing up. Keep the can as horizontal as possible, and push into the cavity until just the edge of the can is visible. Some of the liquid will spill out, but the remaining will sit in the can and add moisture to the inside of the turkey while roasting!
Continue to prepare the turkey as you usually would… or feel free to try our Woodchuck Can Turkey Recipe! It’s quite delicious!
Whether you’re drinking cider out of a can, or enjoying it infused into a turkey, have a ‘Chuck’n Great Thanksgiving and beginning to the holidays!
